Toronto Real Estate Market

The real estate market in Toronto is one of the most diverse. It is possible to find a small neighbourhood community here with a typical subdivision layout. On the other hand, those wishing to live in the downtown area may love the high-rise apartments and condos. Toronto single-family homes are still the largest component of this real estate market, but there are also other options. Many people prefer Toronto condos and townhomes because of the lower overall cost.

Some of Toronto's most popular home styles include art deco, Tudor revival homes, arts and craft homes, and split-level homes. Some half-story homes are also present in this area, especially in older sections of the city.

There is no doubt the Toronto real estate market is competitive and often changes. It is one of the largest in the country, with a wide range of home prices likely to be present. Home prices may be as low as $200,000 but can easily top $1 million or more in some areas. As a large market, there are many homes for sale at any given time, and homebuyers need to be ready to purchase what they desire, especially in more affluent communities.

Another key to the real estate market in Toronto is the new construction industry. There is a lot of demand for new homes in Toronto, but there is not much new development happening in the city itself (outside of high rise developments.) Within the metro area surrounding Toronto, though, numerous new subdivision opportunities are emerging, making this area one of the best for those who want to build a new home.

Some of Toronto's most popular neighbourhoods include Downtown Toronto, The Annex, Yorkville, Kensington Market, and The Beaches. All offer their own special features to make them unique.
